life – haikutographs

ha-iku – a Japanese poem of seventeen syllables, in three lines of five, seven, and five, traditionally evoking images

pho-to-graph – a picture made using a camera, in which an image is focused on to light-sensitive material and then made visible

It has often been said that poetry is the closest art-form to photography. Here is my marriage of the two – fleeting moments in time and fleeting reflections on life. The photographs were taken over several years; I  then produced triptychs of photographs that were linked by a common theme; and finally I wrote a haiku poem to further express the theme.
